New Works by
Johnny Vampotna

As written on the promotional postcard by Slow Culture Gallery:

"Slow Culture is proud to present artist Johnny Vampotna's first solo gallery exhibition, Ghost Noir. A Los Angeles resident known primarily for his roots in the graffiti and tattoo community; Johnny will showcase his expansion into previously unexplored mediums. Present will be an assortment of dynamic watercolors, oil paintings,
photographs and abstract installations.

His artwork has been displayed in award winning galleries such as Thinkspace, Meltdown and Ironlak to name a few. He has also had the privilege of doing guest spots at equally important tattoo shops around the world. Johnny is currently tattooing in Silver Lake, CA at American Electric Tattoo owned by Craig Jackman.

Ghost Noir is a tribute to an encounter with an apparition the artist experienced inside the infamously haunted Los Angeles Ambassador Hotel. The incident has since inspired themes of the metaphysical both as a personal hobby and muse for his artwork. From roses to reapers, he investigates both the uncharted territory of the afterlife and the mundane beauty of daily rituals. Old fashioned tattoo methods fused with occult style motifs inspire this body of work to invoke a timeless feeling of American Gothic tradition."

I was featured in the Doze Collective. It's always nice to be recognized by your peers!

Huff Stuff

To my surprise; I got word my tattoo photos were on the front page of the Huffington Post the other week as they listed the shop I work at
American Electric Tattoo Company as “top 5 best tattoo shops in LA to get tattooed at” or something along those lines. That was super random & awesome!
Thank you HUFF! You guys rule.

A nice shout-out from Hypebeast for a group show in Echo Park, Ca's Backside Boutique.

I also had a great time when I went over seas and was featured in Metal Hammer Magazine, Norway.
An incredible time and many thanks to the guys at Metal Hammer Magazine!
